Day 01: Gwalior Arrival & Sightseeing (Gwalior Stay)
Upon arrival in Gwalior, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Begin exploring this regal city with a visit to the majestic Gwalior Fort, perched atop a hill with panoramic views. Explore the Sas Bahu Temples, Teli Ka Mandir, and the Man Singh Palace with its beautiful blue-tiled façade. Later, visit the Jai Vilas Palace, an opulent 19th-century palace showcasing royal collections, and end the day with the serene Tomb of Tansen, one of Akbar’s navratnas. Overnight in Gwalior.
After breakfast, drive to Kuno National Park (approx. 2.5–3 hrs). Known for the reintroduction of Asiatic cheetahs and diverse wildlife, Kuno offers a unique safari experience in a lesser-explored setting. Enjoy a jeep safari (subject to availability) through the park’s dense woodlands and grasslands. Spot wildlife such as leopards, jackals, nilgai, and various bird species. Depart for Orchha (approx. 5–6 hrs), a heritage town that beautifully preserves medieval architecture. Visit the Orchha Fort Complex featuring Jahangir Mahal, Raj Mahal, and Sheesh Mahal. Today, visit the Western Group of Temples, including Kandariya Mahadev, Lakshmana, and Vishwanath Temples, which are masterpieces of sculptural finesse. Continue to the Eastern Group, featuring Jain temples like Parsvanath and Adinath, showcasing religious harmony. Optional visits include Raneh Falls or Ajaigarh Fort for panoramic views. Start your day with an early morning jungle safari in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, known for its high tiger density. Explore the rich flora and fauna, including leopards, deer, langurs, and birdlife.
