Ujjain

Ujjain, one of India’s most sacred cities, lies on the banks of the holy Shipra River. It is home to the revered Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, attracting devotees year-round. The city’s spiritual aura extends to Kal Bhairav Temple, Ram Ghat, and Sandipani Ashram, believed to be where Lord Krishna studied. Ujjain also hosts the grand Kumbh Mela (Simhastha) once every twelve years, drawing millions of pilgrims.

Visit between October and March for pleasant weather and to experience evening aartis along the ghats.

Highlight: A city of timeless spirituality, where mythology, astronomy, and devotion converge.
