Day 01: Bhopal Arrival & Local Sightseeing (Overnight in Bhopal)
Upon arrival at Bhopal Airport or Railway Station, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel. After check-in and some rest, proceed for a half-day sightseeing tour of Bhopal. Visit the serene Upper Lake and Lower Lake, Birla Mandir (Lakshmi Narayan Temple), and the Tribal Museum, which offers a deep insight into the culture of Madhya Pradesh’s indigenous communities. If time permits, explore Bharat Bhavan, an arts and cultural complex. In the evening, enjoy a walk along the lakefront or visit the vibrant local markets. Overnight stay in Bhopal.
After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Sanchi (approx. 46 km), home to one of the most important Buddhist heritage sites. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Great Stupa, Ashokan Pillar, and Buddhist monasteries. Afterward, proceed to the nearby Udaygiri Caves (approx. 15 km), known for their ancient Gupta-era rock-cut sculptures, including the famous Varaha (boar) incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The site offers a blend of history, religion, and archaeology. Return to Bhopal by evening and relax at your hotel. Overnight stay in Bhopal.
Post breakfast, check out and drive to Bhimbetka Rock Shelters (approx. 45 km), a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring prehistoric cave paintings that date back over 30,000 years. Walk through the natural rock formations and admire ancient art depicting daily life, hunting scenes, and rituals of early humans. After exploring the site, continue your drive to Satpura National Park (via Madhai Gate, approx. 170 km from Bhimbetka), known for its rich biodiversity and tranquil forest settings. On arrival, check in to your jungle lodge. Overnight stay near Satpura.
Wake up early and gear up for an exciting jungle safari in Satpura National Park, one of India’s most untouched and diverse wildlife reserves. Enjoy a guided safari (by jeep or boat, subject to availability) through lush sal forests, meadows, and riverbanks. Spot wildlife such as sloth bears, Indian bison, leopards, deer, and numerous bird species. Return to the lodge for breakfast and leisure time. In the evening, you may opt for a walking safari, canoe ride, or birdwatching experience. Overnight stay at your jungle resort in Satpura.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and begin your return journey to Bhopal (approx. 140–160 km / 4–5 hours). Enjoy the scenic route through forested landscapes. On arrival in Bhopal, you’ll be dropped at the Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, marking the end of your culturally immersive and nature-filled Madhya Pradesh tour.
